Samantha's journey with Ventia is inspiring. From a young age, she was captivated by mechanics—a passion that led her through high school and into college. During her college years, Samantha gained valuable experience with Ventia (formerly Broadspectrum), which paved the way for her to step into an apprenticeship role upon finishing school. Her work on Ventia's Defence Maintenance Contract, specifically with Defence’s newest and most unique heavy commercial vehicles, has been nothing short of exemplary.
Samantha’s manager, Wayne Nutchey, says, “Samantha works hard and deserves this achievement. I hope that other young women see someone like her and recognise that this type of career isn’t just for the boys. Having women on the team is great for culture and bringing new perspectives—I hope that interest in this type of career continues to grow.”
Ventia’s commitment to diversity and inclusion means actively seeking and supporting talented individuals from all backgrounds. Samantha Icely’s success story not only highlights the exceptional talent they have but also serves as an inspiration for other women considering a career in blue-collar roles. At Ventia, they believe that a diverse workforce enhances their capability to innovate and excel, and they are dedicated to creating opportunities that allow everyone to shine.
