FlexCareers has been championing flexibility as the future of work by connecting its community of 100,000 men and women with progressive employers offering flexible work.
Motivated to address the lack of women in senior roles in corporate Australia and the barriers they face, FlexCareers also leads organisations to design and embed workplace flexibility as a way to help more women participate in the workforce.
FlexCareers CEO Natalie Goldman said, “We are absolutely thrilled to be a Telstra Business Awards finalist. Those that have been through this awards process will know that it’s an extremely thorough deep-dive of your business, and it’s very competitive.
This recognition is reflective not only of the efforts of our team but, more importantly, the change that we have effected across Australia and New Zealand, helping to create flexible workplaces that move the needle on gender equality and shape the future of work.”
To help organisations take positive steps to develop more flexible, inclusive workplaces, FlexCareers launched Australia’s first free online diagnostic tool to identify where an organisation is on its flexibility journey, together with a suite of coaching services to support them.
At present, FlexCareers is focusing on uncoupling gender from the conversation around flexibility, believing that, until they increase the number of men accessing flexible work and parental leave, women will always face discrimination in the workplace.
Ms Goldman said, “We envisage a future where workplace flexibility is the norm, not the exception, and where both men and women are encouraged and supported to work flexibly.”
FlexCareers is one of NSW’s leading small and succeeding businesses
As contenders in the Small and Succeeding category, FlexCareers are thrilled to be considered as finalists in NSW and Australia-wide. This category recognises businesses that are punching above their weight. The category is open to businesses with an annual turnover of less than $3 million and under 200 employees.
“From humble beginnings, we’ve grown to be Australia and New Zealand’s #1 platform for flexible jobs, and we’re now consulting to organisations across the region to help them design, embed and embrace flexible working practices. We have the opportunity to really make a difference, and that’s an incredible feeling.” Ms Goldman said.
The Telstra Business Awards promises to offer entrants, finalists and winners a range of experiences and opportunities that extend far beyond winning the award. The program recognises the best in business across four categories: Emerging and Energised, Small and Succeeding, Medium and Making Waves, and Social Change Make
The winners will be announced July 5, 2018.
