Write the Perfect CV – Part 3 of 3: Converting a perfect CV into an even better job interview

Written by Guest Author | 2017/03/63

Here are some simple tips on how to excel at the interview:

Prepare examples that illustrate what and how you have successfully solved problems or performed activities

When answering questions, make sure you state a specific situation, the tasks that needed to be done, the action you took and the results you achieved!

Answer questions with examples you have thought about before the interview. Typical questions are:

  • Give an example of a goal you reached and tell me how you achieved it.
  • Describe a decision you made that was unpopular and how you implemented it.
  • Have you gone above and beyond the call of duty? If so, how?
  • What do you do when your schedule is interrupted? Give an example of how you handle it.
  • Have you had to convince a team to work on a project they weren’t thrilled about? How did you do it?
  • Have you handled a difficult situation with a co-worker? How?
  • Tell me about how you worked effectively under pressure.

At the end of the interview, ask some thought provoking questions:

  • What are you most hoping to find in the person you hire?
  • What would be my first priorities on the job?
  • Do you have any concerns about my ability to do the job?

GOOD LUCK!
