A Dad's Parental Leave Story at Eclipx Group

Eclipx Group is celebrating the 12-month anniversary of their latest Parental Leave policy offering 16 weeks of paid parental leave for primary careers, regardless of gender with no minimum tenure, including birth, adoption, and surrogacy.

This gender-equal feature and their flexible working environment are driven by their values and dedication to supporting their employees. Additionally, the new policy offers secondary carers four weeks of paid leave within the first 12 months of a baby’s life.

Jonathan Millauro is a Maintenance Controller at Eclipx Group. He has been at the company for over 11 years. He recently took part in this 16-week paid leave. Learn more about Jonathan's story:

1. Tell us about your job, and what it is you do.
   "I manage the repairs, maintenance, servicing, scheduling, breakdown, and hire cars for all of our fleet of vehicles. Eclipx leases vehicles to our clients and once the vehicle has been delivered my team takes care of the in-life services of the lease. We liaise with drivers if they require assistance to book their vehicles for service. We manage the service and repairs of the vehicles and we manage the dealer/repairer network labour rates and agreements."
   
   
2. What kind of support has Eclipx Group given you as a parent? 
   "Eclipx Group gives its employees 16 weeks of paid parental leave for the primary carer and 4 weeks for the secondary carer. Flexibility for school pickups and drop-offs as well. The option to work flexibly from the comfort of your home is provided as well."
   
   
3. How have you taken advantage of the parental support benefits? 
   "I have 2 sons, Jayden (11) and Lucas (9), and a daughter Sienna (8 months). I was able to enjoy watching my baby girl grow and develop from such an early stage. I didn’t have this with my first two children and missed out on their early development."
   
   
4. What have been the benefits to you both for your family life and career life?
   "This has allowed me to help support with household activities, children's school homework activities, and sports. Being able to delegate work and trust colleagues to step up as required, my team is always able to contact me on my personal mobile if required and I’m always there for them."
   
   
5. What tips do you have for getting that right balance between working and being a parent? 
   "Knowing when to switch off and focus on family time. I always find myself working weird hours."
