“Work can be flexible, so if a shift clashes with a special occasion I can generally swap it around,” says Joondalup depot Lead Driver, Hannah.

Business support manager Michelle also appreciates the flexibility, saying, “There’s a high level of diversity, responsibility and initiative required in my work. But I also get the flexibility to give back to my community too.”

Career development at Transdev

Transdev is renowned for supporting their employees throughout their careers. For example, Matt developed his skillset from apprentice to maintenance leading hand during his 12 years with Transdev. Matt says, “During my apprenticeship, I combined time at TAFE with time in the workshop. The mentoring I got here was fantastic.”

“Becoming a qualified mechanic is my greatest achievement. In fact, not only am I the first person in my family to be a tradie; I’m the first to have an advanced qualification. Transdev have really looked after me these past 12 years and I have no regrets,” Matt says.

Transdev is one FlexCareers’ 39 employer partners to receive  a WGEA Employer of Choice citation for 2018-19. This is Transdev’s first year to hold the citation, and is testament to their commitment to making their workplace safe and inclusive for all employees.

WGEA’s citation is a leading practice recognition program that aims to encourage, recognise and promote active commitment to achieving gender equality in Australian workplaces.

Male Champions of Change

Transdev have been participating in Male Champion of Change initiatives since 2017. Their new CEO Luke Agati will join the group and is 100% supportive of its initiatives.

Male Champions of Change (MCC) Institute works with influential leaders to redefine men’s role in taking action on gender inequality. It activates peer groups of influential male leaders, supports them to step up beside women, and drives the adoption of actions across private sector and government.

Reconciliation Action Plan

In 2018 Transdev Australasia embarked on their reconciliation journey with the development of their first innovate reconciliation action plan.  This plan stipulates the efforts Transdev are committed to in the areas of relationships, respect and opportunities for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.  You can read their reconciliation action plan here.
